Mesothelioma Disease

Mesothelioma is a cancer of mesothelial cells along the chest and abdomen. Mesothelioma is a rare but appears to be increasing. The symptoms of both types of mesothelioma are not specific to just go for the disease, and often not diagnosed or misdiagnosed for a considerable amount of time. Difficulty breathing, abdominal and chest pain and fever can be attributed to other causes if the cancer has enough time before the diagnosis. Because of difficulties in the diagnosis of mesothelioma, the survival time after diagnosis is about one year.

There are two main types of mesothelioma. The first type spreads, pleural mesothelioma in the chest and sometimes the lungs. This type of cancer can metastasize, or any organ of the body including the brain.

Metastasis is more common than previously thought, and signs of disease progression. The symptoms of pleural mesothelioma with persistent chest pain and breathing difficulties caused severe
Pleural effusion, or fluid in the pleural cough, weight loss and fever are common symptoms. The survival time for this type of mesothelioma is peritoneal mesothelioma better. The median survival time was 17 months, ten percent of the patients three years of life after diagnosis.

The second type of mesothelioma is peritoneal mesothelioma. This cancer invades the abdominal cavity, liver, spleen and intestine sometimes. The main symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma with persistent pain in the region and a swollen abdomen, both by the accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity and organs. Other symptoms include nausea, vomiting and swelling of the feet, fever and difficulty moving the bowels. The prognosis for peritoneal mesothelioma is worse than that of pleural mesothelioma with a median survival time of only ten months after diagnosis.

Mesothelioma is two less common forms. Mesothelioma is a cancer of the peritoneal mesothelioma Benin. The peritoneum is the lining of the major organs in the chest and abdomen. It is difficult to diagnose, and is most common in young women. Pericardial Mesothelioma is a rare cancer of the heart. Mesothelioma can also occur in the ovaries and testes. The progression of mesothelioma is divided into four stages. These steps provide a basis for predicting how far the cancer spread. Staging is on X-ray, CT-based and MRI. Treatment decisions and prognosis depend on the stage of mesothelioma and nature, when mesothelioma. In the first stage, the mesothelioma of the pleura, lung, pericardium, or diaphragm, and is located next to the body. Mesothelioma invades the chest wall or esophagus during the second stage. The second step can also see the cancer in my heart, on both sides of the pleura, lymph nodes or chest. The third step is the penetration through the membrane and peritoneum, and believes that the spread of cancer to lymph nodes further. The fourth and final stage occurs when the tests provide evidence of metastases in distant organs. In the fourth step, mesothelioma spreads through the blood of these new landscapes.
